A) 2002 GC SE 60,000 miles

B) 2000 GC SE 60,000 miles


I'm just curious how people feel about the 4th gen's vs. the 3rd gen's....

I would personally choose the 02 as it is newer I think the they got some of the bugs worked from 96-00 but not all, I like my 01 but it does have a few issues but nothing major plus that it is worth more

 

neather both have been known for the tranny problems! but if you have to have one or the other git the 2002 it is newer and less like likely to have problems even if it has the same miles!

 

Is it true though that the 2001-2005 had more electrical Probs and BCM issues? I'm used to the tranny issues....havn't had one yet I havn't had to do a tranny on....

 

I only have third gen experience but have noted a lot of problem posts with the '01 vans. It is a first year for that generation and could have more problems than the '02's. I would probably go with the '00 and add a transmission cooler, as this was the fix for the later vans not having tranny problems (ATF+4 too, however the '00 came with ATF+4).
