I had two new tires installed, when I picked up my van and headed out the van started to vibrate really bad. I had the tires inspected and they we're out of round. When I confronted the dealership they said that the drive shaft (short side) was bent and this was the problem but it didn'tvibrate at all before. They replaced the part and yet still the vanvibrated, when again I questioned the tires being out of round they agreed to balance them again. Still insisting they were fine,I watched them lift the van with a power jack to remove the tires and wonder if they bent the shaft initially if they used a power jack and that was how the shaft was bent in the first place. I have not driven the van so they have minimal mileage, I had them inspected again today and was told that 3 of my tires are out of round. I am meeting the manager of the dealership to settle this but need to know what possiblecauses other than what I suspect (the jack) could be the reason the shaft could have been bent. I don't want to stereotype but unfortunetly believe I was treated this way because I am a woman. Please help me be prepared for this battle. thanks so much

 

I don't think the drive shaft was bent it is protected by the control arm to me it seems pretty cut and dry it didn't virbrate when you took it in, right and when you left it did, correct so its probably the tires does the vibration happen at certain speeds or it it all of the time I take it it still vibrates after they rebalanced the tires? you canhave the tirestrued up so they aren't out of round, but I would suggest them putting on another pair though, did the person who inspected them say how much they are out of round? it is possible that something else got damaged when they were working on it like a tie-rod possibly? you could also take to a different garage and have them look at it and see what they think which would probably be a good idea and take what they say to the manager and see what he will do just tell them you had the vehicle service and after it was repaired a vibration suddenly appeared

 

I've also experienced rims being damaged by overzealous impact wrenches. The Stealership should make right since it didn't do it when brought in. Keep us informed.
