Cooling System
I own a 93 caravan With a 3.0L V6, about 2 or 3 weeks ago we had a cold snap outside and since then my cooling system has had problems. The problems are overheating, too much pressure in upper & lower rad hoses, cooling fans not coming on. Machanic at a garage said it might be the thermostat, so I changed that. It made very little differance now the fans come on when the water temp. is still cold. When it gets hot the fans don't come on at all. does anyone have any idea what might cause these problems?
Is the water pump circualting the water? There may have been an ice blockage in the cooling system preventing the flow. Did you park the car in a heated garage overnight to thaw the radiator? If you had pressure on both supply and return hoses, your radiator is probably blocked or frozen.Did the mechanic jump the relay to see if the fan's worked? or check to see if the fan relay was bad? When it heats up (especially when it almost overheats) do you get adequate heat inside the car? Lots of possibilities here........
