Default Wheels/Tires Photos for 05-07 GC SXT

I didn't see a photo section for the Grand Caravan, so I'll ask here.

On basically EVERY car I get I upgrade the tires (and often the wheels too) to better performing rubber.
OEM tires often suck and I believe people don't put enough interest in getting the best rubber they can for their cars.
It's the SOLE thing that keeps you connected to the road, so whatever tire will give me better handling, braking, control, I usually put on my cars.

With the 05-07 GC SXT that is extremely limited. The OEM Bridgestones just stink and wouldn't keep those on for a week after buying the 07 SXT I'm looking to get.

But in the 16" size only really the Pirelli P6 Four Season tire is available (in 235/60/16) yes it's a bit wider and lower profile than the stock 215/65/16 rubber. But overall diameter is very similiar.

So I considered plus sizing up to 17" wheels/tires.
That means going to 215/60/17 tires. They are only a tiny bit taller overall (.15 inch) but offer two MUCH better tires than OEM's
Continental ContiProContact
General Altimax HP

I'd probably get the Continental ContiProContact.

I don't want flashy wheels (it is a minivan afterall) but found only the Sport Edition F7 wheel on Tirerack to be a very OEM looking wheel.
But it's made in China, which doesn't give me too much confidence in build quality.

So again, two questions:

1. Anybody know anything about these Sport Edition F7 wheels
2. Anybody have pictures of them (or any other 17" wheel) on a Grand Caravan SXT?

Thanks again.

These are what I'm trying to put on my GC. I just picked them up from my brother's place and I'm going to check them out on the GC tomorrow. There's a question as to whether the bolt pattern will truly work, but I think it will. These are OEM off of a Charger I believe. 18" x 7.5" with approximately the same offset as my 16" OEM. I'm looking at the 235/50-18 I think. Same basic overall diameter in height as stock. I can't wait. Hope they fit.....

Well, I just pulled my OEM wheels and tires off my 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT
My van (and therefore it's OEM tires) have only 2800 miles on it.

The combined weight of the OEM tire/wheels are
43.4 lbs.

Tirerack lists the Bridgestone Turanza EL-42 tire in 215/65/16 size as
24 lbs.

That means the OEM 16 x 6.5" wheel that comes on the SXT weighs approximately
19.4 lbs

I have been looking but can't find aftermarket wheels in 16 x 7 or 17 x 7 or 17 x 7.5 inch size that look OEM like and
weigh equal to or less than the OEM wheels, but can't find any.

I would also like to swap out the OEM Bridgestones for a better (higher rated) tire but also don't want to add more rotational mass.
The General Altimax HP and Continental ContiProContact HR are both 24 lbs in OEM size and 23 lbs (1 pound lighter than OEM tire) in
comparable 215/60/17 inch size.

Anybody know of a nice 17" wheel that weighs 20 lbs or under that doesn't look ghetto or barrio like?
A nice 5, 6, or 7 spoke wheel would be preferred.

Thanks
