99 gc window motor replacement

Default 99 gc window motor replacement

hi
my van's window motor is retired
i took inside door panel out, this job is kind of hectic to me[:'(]

so is there any one who have experience to do this job smart way like change only motor?

i think it may be possible if i know more about motor stuff

any advice is always appreciated

I changed the motor on my 01 it was very easy but the thing is that the cables get moisture and bind up I would suggest changing the whole assembly, but if you want to change the motor its just four bolts holding it onto the regulator if am correct they are phillips head but might be torx

Many people say that when you replace the motor it isn't very long until the regulator craps out too. I would replace both of them as a unit as I hate doing the same job twice. Supposedly the aftermarket Dorman HELP! brand of motor/regulator has corrected the DC design and lasts longer. If I were doing the job I would try the HELP! parts which are also cheaper than the factory parts. You should get a factory shop manual as this clarifies how the job is done.

i got two new ones around $60 from ebay ( you knoew one side is gone,other one will be too).

i 'll try change whole kit
