Done with Chrysler and their JUNK!
My 01 Caravan has close to 80k on the clock. The same problem keeps poping
up. Yup you guessed it, FRONT END.
After sticking well over a grand into just the front end of this pile of junk, it's time
to tell the Chrysler Corp to stick it!
I never thought I'd ever say this but, NO MORE AMERICAN MADE AUTO's FOR ME.
Chrysler has had MANY MANY model years to work out the MAJOR problems with
their Mini van front end problems. They have chose NOT TO!
It's time to give some other NON American auto maker a try. Can't be ANY worse,
that's for sure.

1 REPAIR and you call it junk? I'm dissapointed in my 99's 3 repairs! How much did you spend in total?
I had mine 2 years / $2500 repairs. + an $850 recirculating air repair not done.
I'm lookin at Honda Odysseys but even these have their nightmare problems, as seen on Odyssey forums.

99Sport33L, it's more like 4 trips now to have the front end worked
on. It right back to its popping and cracking like they all do. No, it
isn't the ball joints either.
That's surly not the only problem I've had with this thing.. Just last
month it had to be towed because the ignition switch would not turn
with the key. That cost me dear because the ignition switch would
not come out the *normal* way. A lot more labor costs.
Been also dealing (and everyone guessing what to replace) why the
power steering stops working on cold mornings untill it's warmed up.
100 bux here, 75 bux there. Two trips for that now and still same
problem. AND TRY AND TELL THE STUPID DEALERSHIP TO LEAVE IT
OUTSIDE OVER NIGHT SO THE PROBLEM WILL POP UP WHEN THEY
TRY IT! You might as well talk to the wall.
Only good thing I have to say about the van is the great mileage the
3.3 V6 gets moving a box down the highway.
I'd say I have around 3500 bux stuck in this junk for the problems
that don't get fixed or keep coming back. NO MORE!
Time to move on to something else.

I will have to admit that the minivan from 96- on is not the same as the older models our 94 had over 200, 000 miles not problems whatso ever other than routine maint our 01 has been nothing but problems but still not that bad
I hate to say this, but Chrysler has brought most of their problems on themselves. The front end issue should have been redesigned a long time ago. The sliding door issues with the newer models is just plain inexcusable. Broken wires in the harness, bad clutches in the door motors, and they wonder why people get frustrated? EGR valves that just happen to die right after the 80M emission warranty runs out.
On the flip side, add up all the money you've spend on repairs and you wouldn't even come to 1/4 of the increased cost for a Toyota or Honda minivan. Remember, Chrysler was giving away these minivans for low 20's a year ago. You can't touch a Honda Odessy for less than low 30's. Bottom line: You're still money ahead.

if i had my choice i would take the honda for the build but as cheap as our van goes.... the chrysler for the money!
