Default Looking at a 1997 Voyager, need info !!

I am looking at a 1997 Plymouth Voyager Ralley edition, loaded, 3.3L V-6, 4 speed auto trans, 134,xxx miles on it. $3500.00 Super clean and everything works. Tires are 50%.North West Tennessee area. Sound like an OK deal? Anything to watch out for in particular with these models? Any info / help would be verrrrrrry appreciated! I know after buying our '07 Ram I said I would not buy another Dodge product, But I really like this van. ( I will be trading our 2nd vehicle, a 1992 Plymoth Laser GS in on this van IF I buy it. ) This will be my wife's primary vehicle. ( And I will start driving the '07 ram ) Thanks for the info! ------kj

I had a 1999 Amethyst Grand Voyager SE with the 3.3l. Wish I had it back. Had ~235k on the same motor (rebuilt tranny) .. some kid went through a red light ... goodbye van. Burned very little oil but not a single leak.

Only two major repairs late in our relationship. 1. The tranny, 2. The Steering Rack. That van was extremely good to us. The only reoccuring issue was about every 60k or so the belt tensioner would need to be replaced. I think, yeah, we also needed to do a passenger side window motor. EVERYTHING else was basic maintenance. I would even go as far to say that it was THE BEST TROUBLE FREE vehicle Ive ever owned. Typically, the spedo cluster started to be a little tempermental just prior to the wreck.

Search the web for a check list, print one and take it with you.

Good Luck
