05 Grand Caravan SXT 3.8 wont start after changing brakes
Hey all,
I hope someone can help...
I just finished changing the front brakes and rotors on my 05 grand caravan sxt 3.8. Everything went great... except that now the car wont start.
This is what happens:
I turn the key and I here a rapid clicking noise and the needles on the Speedometer and RPM spike and fall back slowly, and the driver side window wont open (all others do).
I tried using both keys that came with car, but the problem still occurs, I tried disconnecting the battery for over an hour.... same problem.
Any one have any ideas?
Thanks!

Rapid clicking is almost always the battery being low and the starter trying to turn the engine. Jump it first and see what happens. I cant think of anything that would cause the car to not start from doing the brakes.
I also think the battery might be low or almost dead, Jump start or charge the battery and see if that helps. Also make sure battery post are clean and tight, might want to check the other end of the ground cable to make sure it's clean and tight.
Bet you were listening to some good music and had a door or two open while you were doing the brakes. Been there, done that.
Sounds like your battery is down for sure. With the BCM (body control module, ie computer)in todays vehiclesplus a weak battery, expect your vehicle to appear haunted and have weird things happen electrically - like wipers going without being turned on, dash gauges going wacky, etc.
As already suggested, get a boost to get started and see what happens from there. All should be well. Should consider replacing the battery when it is about 5 years old or if it is giving you problems before that. The onboard computer systems depend on steady current which won't be provided by a faulty battery. The current flow to these is through the battery and not directly from the alternator.

It contains the fault codes as well plus torque specs, plus maintenance intervals, plus troubleshooting, plus pictures, plus, plus. http://www.haynes.com/ They have them in the auto supply stores for 2003 thru 2006 Chrysler Minivans although they may not be listed on their web site.
Question: Have your power window regulators / motors acted up yet? They likely will, so be prepared. Lots of info on them on the web.
