Slight delay in acceleration 2.4 Caravan
I have 2004 Caravan. Just bought it and am trying to de-bug it, or at least find out that some of these things I write about are a characteristic of this van. When cruising slowly through a parking lot, or coming out of turn at a low speed, and hit the gas, there is a slight thud. Not a slip and thud, but just a quick thud almost simotaneously when hitting the gas. I get the impression that first gear is just about wound out, and when I hit the gas, I am bringing the engine RPM's back up to match the speed of the wheels. So, everything has to "spool up". It'll do it in third and second too, but only in these situations, after coasting, when RPM's have dropped, and I re-engage the power to the transmission. Is this normal? My 2001 Monte Carlo done it at low 1st gear speeds, and my 92' Chevy truck does it too, to an extent. It just bugs the crap out of me. I feel that I will ruin the CV axles.
