transmission mount replacement
FYI for future generations: Replaced the transmission mount on my 96 Dodge Caravan 3.8L this weekend. What was supposed to be a 30 minute job turned into 3 hours. The replacement insert ($30)has to be pressed into the bracket. Getting the old one out was easy w/ a sawzall, but my vice wasn't up to squeezing the old one in, plus the "ears" on the rubber insert get in the way (I didn't have a huge socket, pipe, etc to go over it). So I ended up replacing thebracket and mount ($90), slam bam it was done. Next time I'll know better...
I also inspected the other two? mounts, one near the right fender up top and the other one on the left side behind the tranny/engine, covered bya heat shield. From what I could tell they looked ok.
