How to remove the caliper on 06 GC ?
can anyone tell me how to remove the front caliper on a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan so I can replace the front pads?
I unbolted the 2 metric hex/allen bolts and that loosened it........but the (anti-rattle?) clips are holding the caliper in place so I can not remove the caliper.
I tried to pry the clip a little......but was afraid I was gonna break something so I did not pry much.
I worked at it for about 30 minutes and decided that was long enough...just continuing to waste time from that point.
I have searched around both the boards and the internet but not found any information.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

Perhaps you can try the website www.ehow.com
If you decide to go to that website, type in brakes or a similar keyword in the search pane.
Then click the video tab above the search pane.
The new window will open with various videos on how to change brake pads etc.
All I can state here is remove the rattling clip, but you have been trying to do that already. Check out the site, perhaps it mayhelp...

But I was just a little daffy yesterday.
Let that be a lesson to all that we should not try to work on something when we are hot, worn out and tired.
I tackled it again this afternoon and had the brakes changed and on the road again in about 25 minutes.
It was the anti-rattle clip........I was just trying to pry it straight off and you have to pry it in a way that allows the little 'hooks' to release. Once I looked at it today I could see very clearly what needed to happen.
Amazing what a fresh start will do for you!
thanks again for your response.
