looking at a 96 Caravan tomorrow
NoFrag, check out my thread "Dealer Deleted Options" it might explain why it is optioned out like it is but looks rather basic. Good Luck with the new purchase/toy and with the future repairs of that engine. JR of KCMO
Hey NoFrag, that is a slick li'l Caravan. If you get me the paint code on the driver door (at the bottom - get pic of mine later today) I'll get you the exact colour it is. Once you get the motor situated and worked out you'll have a nice li'l ride. Not bad for the price at all. Good Luck with it! JR of KCMO
Okay so I was going to take off the timing cover today, but when I went to see the van, I decided to try to start it again since it's been moved(you know how sometimes the starter isn't lined up sometimes so it won't crank), well it cranked and fired right up, there is a loud fast knock though, I'm thinking rod bearing. I had it running just long enough to throw a code so I need to get it scanned to make sure, then I'll probably change the rod and main bearings at once to be sure I got the right one. The color is Dark Iris Pearl(QCWS) btw.

NoFrag I don't think that's the paint code unless they do things differently in Canada than America. Dark Iris Pearlcoat is PCW and Light Iris Pearcoat is PC5. I found my Paint Code in front of where it says "Paint Code". HTH JR of KCMO
I took that code off the option sheet, so it could be different on the sticker, that could just be the code that the plant uses. A little off topic, but when I was waiting in the service department, I heard the cashier giving somebody a bill over $9,000, jeez what did he do to get that kind of bill, blow up a hemi?
LOL Makes ya wonder!! Good Luck with you Caravan. Sounds like you are in for a rebuild and I'll cross my fingers that nothing is wrong with the tranny. 3 speeds are a PITA (Pain In The A$$) that's why I'm glad I have a 4 speed w/ overdrive.
