While it is apart, I'm going to give it a good inspection. I'll probably post pictures up here for opinions as well. The trans has been great to me so I'll try to give it the loving attention it needs. The only problem it has ever had was a bad solenoid pack.

About the diff pin. Is it easily replaced? If so maybe I'll look into doing that and I have heard about the case saver kit for the differential. Some of these options sound good to keep the trans from grenading.

 

I pulled off the extension housing today and I found that the bearing is pressed on the differential. I did not even think about that.

Is there a way to pull the bearing while the diff is in the trans? Or does it need to come out?

Also if it needs to come out, will I be able to get it out with the K frame and everything in the way?
