2000 dodge carvan instrument lights are out, gauges, speedometer, tachometer all out
HI everyone,
I took my van to the dodge dealer. I brought it in Friday night they said there tech that work on my van won't be here until Monday. So Monday comes they called to see if I had a jump or trouble starting my van. Nope have not had any problems with starting my van not even when it was 30 to 40 below here in Wisconsin this winter. The van work fine on Friday when I went to phsyical therapy. Came home was fine. Went to leave to go to my orthopedic surogen and found that my whole cluster was out. So while waiting for the doctor called up dodge. And even when I left the doctor the cluster still was all out. So dodge called last night and said they put the battery on charge all day and the cluster came back to life. So they ask if they could keep it over night again to recheck it again. Well they just called and said no problem as of yet. They don't know what cause it or what the problem is. They said they could keep it over night again but I need my van. As I had already to cancel 2 appts due to no vehicle and have another one tomorrow. So told them I would bring back if any problems again.
I had the cluster replaced Feb 2008 I had posted about this before back in Feb 2008 screen name was RobinD
Thanks,

HI,
Well I just got back from picking my van up from the dodge dealer. They did not charge me the $55 charge. Also gave me a free car wash boy did it need it. So they don't know what went wrong but it is working at the moment. Does anyone have any idea what is going wrong. This does not make sense that is the battery. All they did was recharge the battery. The Battery I got from them 4 yrs ago. And they said it still good. And I have a 5 yr warranty on it.
Thanks,
Robin

My only guess would be the alternator. Have them check the charge coming from the alternator as it sounds as though the problem is based on the vehicle not having sufficient power since the battery recharge appears to have fixed the problem for now.
