Default 96 Caravan wouldn't go into drive or reverse

Hi Im new to the forums! I joined cause maybe you guys can help me.

My 96 caravan just suddenly stopped working in the middle of the road. It wouldn't shift into drive or reverse. Well I can physically shift it in but it wouldn't do anything. The van would rev but not move. I couldn't even push the van off the road in neutral. Someone told me to check/replace the tranny solenoid cause that might be the problem. He's not sure though.

I recently replaced the transmission fluid a couple of days before it happened.

Fro reference its a 96 Caravan with 180k miles on it.

Your buddy is referring to the Prindle sensor (PRNDL sensor). That's easy to change and could be the issue.

The Ignition Switch is another remote chance.

You may have a broken hard part, it could be a planetaty gear set or hub with shaft.

If you can't push it in neutral you have internal hard part damage.
Start pricing rebuilds or exchange trannies...Sorry
