Will anyone please tell me how to disconnect the electrical connectors
to components? I slid the red locking tab on one sideways. But, still
the connector would not come loose. Is there another locking feature
that must be undone? I don't want to be a dumb owner and break one
of those plastic connectors.

 

I have found that they can be a bear to get apart. After you slide the red lock over, push the connector together, then press the tab and pull apart. Like I said, they can be a bear.

I remember seeing the tab that runs in the same plane as the
connector / cable. I didn't know whether to press down on it
or pull up (with a screw-driver).
