1990 Dodge Caravan SE Problem
Let me try to explain what it is doing in more detail... The van acts as if it has a miss in park, but in drive it acts as a bad miss and in reverse it shakes and acts as if it has an even worse miss in it... I did change the injector and it is still clicking but it mainly clicks when going on an uphill grade. When starting back down off the unhill grade it smooths out and runs fairly decent. When punching the gas it acts as if it has something thats taking its power away, like its not as powerful as it once was. No smoke coming from exhaust and no oil burn. Please reply ASAP
Could it be a stuck valve????? (exhaust maybe)
That would cause a fairly loud ticking sound and the severe power loss also.
The ticking would increase and decrease with engine rpm.The ticking would also match the engine miss exactly.
It's impossible to really tell without being able to hear the noises and drive the van.

Sorry I havent reposted in afew days... I checked out the Rocker Arms and they looked fairly decent except for one and I replaced it... Took it to a mechanic and he took a listen and said it was a bad wrist pin causing the noise, he didnt allow me to put it in reverse or drive when its way worse in reverse, drive is bad but nothing compaired to reverse, he checked the plug wires and said that they was good, and when he pulled the wire from the number 2 cylender the click stopped, but i still have no power and when its in park idling and its being reved up it sounds as if theres a bunch of small miss fires rumbling threw the exhaust and also since the number 2 plug is now gone it runs but i can hear something that sounds like an electric arc, possibly due to the missing plug and the fire has no where to jump from the distributor rotor... does this all sound like a stuck plug to you?... When I cross the bridge over here, and its on a uphill grade from the 4way stop signs i am lucky to do 18mph on that bridge. been beating myself up trying to figure out the prob, one guy i emailed said it sounded as if it was bad wiring but wouldnt tell me where it was coming from or what wire it was. guess it could be any wire... im afraid i might have to do a rebuild, i know how these engines go together and all just not sure on what this prob could be... write back soon... thanks
