Default Front fan control quit working

I swear these things have a timer in there to start malfunctioning at 100,000 miles. No sooner did we roll over about a week ago and the front fan stops working. No fuses blown that I can find, but the front fan motor won't do anything. Rear works fine. The front gave no indication whatsoever of having trouble. No strange odors (electrical problems, etc) or sounds. Just dead.

Any clues?

Default Front Fan

Is this the interior fan or the electrical fan for engine cooling? If for engine cooling, run a jumper wire direct from the battery to the fan motor (disconnect electrical leads) and see if she runs, if yes, then the motor is good, if no, a new motor is indicated.

Interior fan for A/C and heat.

I know my way around older cars and so forth, but these newer vehicles spook me with all the computerized controls. Any way to quickly determine if it's the switch or the motor? I don't suppose something like this would show up on a diagnostic scan, would it?
