I'm hoping you guys can help. My wife drives a 2001 grand caravan. Two questions. First, When the a/c is turned on, it only blows cold air through the passenger side vents. When I have the a/c turned off, and only have the fan blowing air, I can get the temperature to change from hot, to not so hot, using the temp adjustment. Is there a switch or motor of some kind that is bad? Second question, The van has a really bad a/c leak, but I've put die in the lines, and haven't seen anything. Is there something that is common on these vans that I should look for? Thanks for any help

 

faulty evaporator and drier + expansion valve is pretty common.........theres a technical service bulletin on this....( temp varies 12 degrees or more )

If theres a major leak the compressor might not even start if theres nothing to compress.....
