1998 Dodge grand caravan 3.8 AWD - P1491 Radiator Fan Circuifan relay circuit
Fans are not coming on when the coolant temp goes over 195 F, and coolant expands, finally overflows out of the coolant reservoir as temp rises.
Since the fans stopped at the same time (I presume, had not checked them before), and since the fan motors are so expensive to buy at Autozone, I thought I would instead look to replace the other components in the circuit first, to solve the overheating problem?
So, - besides wiring,
what are the components of the radiator fan circuit that would be involved in a code P1491 on a 1998 Dodge grand caravan 3.8 AWD? i'm new at this but I guess the list would be:
coolant temperature sensor
thermostat
fan relay
2 fan motors
Please correct/complete the list?
And/or, any other suggestions?
