long term damage from wheel spin?
my 2006 SE 3.3 just got caught in the ice on my up sloping drive. The wife had really managed to dig it in. I managed to get it out not after a large amount of wheel spin and a burning smell which I gather was the clutch overheating. This is the first time this has happened. Have I knocked 20,000 miles of the gearbox life?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Or more!!! When I get to work, I'll show you a pic of a diff pin that a woman destroyed. She lives on a steep driveway and always spun the wheels up the hill. Her trans didn't even last a year after is was rebuilt. And this one there is no kit that would have saved it. Also, when you get stuck you overheat the torque converter and spike fluid temps way over 300deg which rapidly breaks down the fluid. So a fluid change would be highly recommeded (if not manditory)
