Default 2003 Grand Caravan Engine stall & blower resistor problems

Have a 2003 Grand Caravan. Started with engine stalling after starting. Would start fine and idea fine. once touch gas pedal would cut out unless pump quick. N?ow has trouble ideling and when onn highway can notice it cutting out if you do not have foot on the gas. The second problem is the blow motor resistor. Just replace as blower only had high. worked fine but had a hot smell when replaced. That when away but then a week ago only have two of the four settings on the blower. A short maybe would cause this?? Any help with the two problems would be greatly apprectiated.

Gas pedal problem, sounds like a TPS (throttle position sensor) is bad. Check engine light on, or has been on?
If you take it to your local Autozone or NAPA and ask them to scan it fro error codes.
Most "GOOD" auto parts stores will scan your rig for free, in hopes you will buy the parts you need from them. (at autozone be sure to get a rewards card)
Thats where I would start, the TPS.
They're are other things that could cause this type of problem, but on my Stratus, when it did the same type of thing, the TPS fixed it.
The Stratus didnt want to go 45mph, 43mph or 48mph was OK. 45mph and it wanted to die.
The TPS acts just like a dimmer switch. If there's a bad spot, the "flicker" will freak out the vans PCM (power control module) and it cuts out, or trys to guess where the throttle is.
It could also be as simple as a vacume leak too.

Your blower motor issue,
I suspect the motor is going out.
If it's burnt up two resistors, I think the motor is on the way out.
A funny smell with a new resistor is normal, it's burning off manufacturing residue.
The fact that the smell went away comfirms that.
Having it burn a second resistor is not normal.
If you replace the resistor again, I'd bet it does the same thing.
You should be able to find a blower motor at a local salvage yard to save a little money.
It's also a great place to see Caravans in various states of disassembly BEFORE you tear into your rig.
The Autozone.com DIY section is also a great place to look for info.

Good luck,
