Default 2 different rads for 2005 GCV??

Hey everyone.

I'm a little confused. hoping for some guidance.

some background
I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3

I noticed a leak in the radiator. I went to the local parts store and priced out a replacement. I also called the dealership just to see what they wanted for one. While on the call with the dealership, they asked me what my manufacture date was on my van. Apparently there are 2 models of rad's for the 2005's. My manufacture date is 1-05. he said that I was "lucky" and fall under the "cheaper" rad. Anything after Feb of that year used a different model of rad.

So back to the local part store I went to pick up the rad. (more then half the price of the dealer) The parts store only have one listed for 2005 and not 2 like the dealership. The parts guy made a good point. He wondered if my rad falls under the year 2004.

Have anyone heard of this? i bought the rad anyway. I will be doing the work this weekend. As this is my wife's "kid hauler" the less down time the better

Thanks in advance!!
Ian

I think I found the answer. I was on https://www.dodgeparts.com and it looks like the radiators up to 01/31/05 used one type and from 02/01/05 used a different type. looks like I will return the "2005" radiator that I bought and buy the "2004" version.

Am I reading this right?
https://www.dodgeparts.com/oe_parts_catalog.html
select 2005 dodge caravan
go to Cooling system
select the second "radiator" in the list

Radiator, all models, 3.3l, 3.8l, all, to 1/31/05 - 3.3l, 3.5l, 3.8l - 3.3L, 3.5L, 3.8L

and

Radiator, all models, 3.3l, 3.8l, all, from 1/31/05 - 3.3l, 3.5l, 3.8l - 3.3L, 3.5L, 3.8L

Just want to update the thread with my results.

I stayed with the rad I bought from the local parts store rather than getting the rad from the dealership for my "unique" 2005 production date.

This rad bolted right up with no issues. The only difference I could see between the "January" rad and the "Feb-Dec" rad was the top clips for the rubber seal.
