'93 Caravan change power adapter

ahhh....some knowledgeable people on the wiring of the GC!!

im looking to mod my 1996 3.8L ES cigar (front) and rear outlets. they are from the factory "switched" i would like to make them hot all the time. what will i need to do (easiest way) to make this mod?

You would do the same thing as the other poster. Find the cigar lighter / accessory relay in the PDC and replace it with relay part number 82301039.

this mod will work for my 96 ES as well?!?! no need to run a direct line from the battery? how about for the rear socket? will the relay swap make that always on as well?

'96 - mid '99 would use the same relay. And yes, front and rear sockets would both be affected and changed to battery fed power.

thanks again so much for the info tizzy1, much appreciated! just picked up the new power/socket mod and the dual usb port and the new headlights from spyder were on my doorstep when i got home today! YAY!! install time!

...now...where do i locate that relay? dealer part only?

todays toys.....

just got off the phone with the dealer "discontinued/obsolete" part. they dont have it. told me to call NAPA, they dont even have the part # in their database. internet pulls of the part, but i need it by sunday.

ok.....got the aux power socket and usb socket installed in the rear armrest compartments of the 96 3.8L hippievan. also got the new headlights installed too (whole unit, not just bulbs).

drivers left is the dual usb sockets. awesome.






drivers right is the power accessory socket. awesome.



installs took about 3 hours. not bad. skiKation, bring it on!
