Default AC recharge after long disconnect

When I got my van the condenser was removed and the lines have been open for a total of 7 months. My worry is moisture. The new condenser I plan to buy is supposed to already have the right amount of oil. I plan to pull a good vacuum and charge. Do you think the moisture is a big deal? Is there any way to get it out without having a shop flush it?

moisture in a refrigeration unit is the worste thing u can have. ya need to flush out lines. nitrogin to get the big particles water out. then bring down the microns to below 500. and make sure no leaks and all good. 134A dont like moisture too and polyeaster oil will catch water. so dont leave oil open to air for too long wise ya going to need to get new one.

Install a new drier on the system and when you evacuate it, do it for a long time. Water boils at room temp. when in a vacumn, that is the main reason you put the system in a vacumn in the first place is to get rid of the moisture. The longer you have the system in a vacumn, the more moisture you get rid of. Plus the fact that pag oil is like a sponge, I'd vacumn it for a couple of hours, at least.

Sweet! For good measure do you think it would be a good idea to pull a long vacuum before replacing the drier and then agian after?

It wouldn't hurt, I don't think the drier would pick up much moisture just from installation but if you have the time, that's how I would do it.
