Default 07 Caravan E-Brake

So back in the winter I ran over some snow and my E Brake hasn't worked since then. The pedal won't stay down and I finally got to take a look underneath today and looks like the cable is detached on the passenger side and the cable on the driver side looks odd, but I don't know what it should look like.

The pic attached is the where all the 3 cables meet on the driver side. It seems like when I press the pedal the bracket hits the van and prevents it from going any further.

The cable on the passenger side it out of the bracket about 5 inches away and I can't get it any closer than 4 1/2 inches. Anyone know a way to loosen up the cables? I'd post the pic of the passenger side but this post said I exceeded my attachments.

the pedal had kind of an auto adjust system. you should be able to grab the cable to the pedal with a pliers and pull it out of the pedal mechanism. Then clamp it with a vise grip where the cable goes in to keep it out and you should have plenty of room to reconnect it.

Thanks. I'll try that and post back.

Well, I finally got around to taking another look at my ebrake cable. It was exactly what Tizzy said. It took longer to go buy a vise grip than it did to fix it. Much thanks!!
