On a '94 van, you need a scan tool to pull transmission codes. You will need to have a shop or someone with access to a tool pull them and go from there. They actually get stuck in second gear when they go into limpin.
Hi,
The check engine light doesn't come on but a check gauge light flicks on every once in awhile with the gauges dropping to the left like you shut the engine off..
I will make an appt, with a transmission shop tomorrow and see what they say.. the codes etc...
thanks to you all,
ed

Hi Everyone,
The transmission needed a new TCM --cost about $180 and then with the diagnosis and replacement etc. about $ 160 -- it will be about $350 total.
What a relief !
Thanks for you input.
