Default Evaporator probe location...

noob to this forum, so maybe you all will have a little mercy on a (more than likely) dumb question; where exactly is the a/c evaporator probe located, and what exactly does it look like? And is there an online link for id'ing parts and associated part numbers? I have a 1997 Caravan w/the 3.8. Thanks in advance...

Open the glove box and remove the straps and allow it to open to the floor. Look inside the opening and you will see a large grommet in the side of the heater box with a connector in the middle. That is the evap temp probe. And welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the quick reply and welcome, Greg. I'll get on it right away.

I need some more help here, please...I had printed out master tech's Diagnostic Tests for HVAC from the DIY sticky, and began the cool-down test (after the calibration test which passed). Cooldown test failed. The a/c will not kick on unless I jumper it at the relay socket. Even then it blows ambient temp. air from the vents. The info thus indicates an evap probe open, or else shorted.
The a/c just stopped working the other day. Had been blowing cold, just like always. So I'm guessing: leak, or evap probe. On the other hand, what do I know?

Well, tested and found a leak from a stone hit to the condenser. New one on the way. Thanks again.
