Default 2000 Grand Caravan blinkers dead but 4ways work :SOLVED:

2000 Grand Caravan ... right/left turn signals no longer work. These had stopped before and every time all i had to do was turn off vehicle and they would start working again ... litterally highway speeds .... just turn off and restart .... all is well.

Well they are dead for good now it seems. I am searching out the forum but seems like each post never gets updated with a final solution.

BLINKER FLUID IS OK ....

Sometimes interior light will not come on when opening the door to get in ... just replaced the blower motor because it was dead .... fuses are ok. these are all the things that i better tell you guys in case its related to each other.

Gonna disconnect battery to unplug and replug BCM see if that works.

Thought id post first before trying stuff because i usually dont fix it and takes even longer to get replies to try other stuff.

Thanks for your help.

Removed the positive batery terminal and plugged and unplugged the BodyControlModule .. reconnected the + battery and success .. yessss .... oh it was just the hazards were on .. shoot .... blinkers still dont work.

I have removed the blinker/wiper control module (the blinker stick) but dont want to drive to the junkyard to get a used one. Gas aint 89 cents a gallon anymore and i still dont know if thats the problem for sure.

SOLVED !! ..... for now. An unplug replug of the blinker flasher fixed the problem ... the car is off from craigslist and the flasher under the dash looks BRAND NEW ... ? wonder if this is part of the reason they sold it ...

Still looking for ideas as to what might have caused this to happen.

Thanks again.

The flasher on that style of minivan was a common issue for doing exactly that. Wouldn't suprise me if you just need a new one (from the dealer). Next time they don't work, turn the signal on and reach under the dash and tap on the flasher. They should start working and if they do, need a new flasher.
