We have a 2005 Grand Caravan 3.8. with 130K on it. The last couple of years I've had to put roughly a can of freon in to bring the charge back up. I used the stuff with the so called sealer in it.
Well it's already down just a little on the charge but the AC is not blowing cold as it should and the old lady is #%$@# at me. Probably going to put a can of dye in and see if I can find anything before I start taking this thing apart. Do these van still have the same evaporator issues they had when they first came out in 96? If so, how bad is it to replace on the caravan? I haven't really taken a look to see how bad/easy it is to replace that and the drier. I've had to put a heater core in my 03 ram truck and while it was apart I replaced the evaporator while I had it out so I am familiar to the dash fun of the Dodges. Any help is appreciated.

3 places an '05 caravan normally leak. Hole in the condenser from a rock. Probably not you. The underbody lines were recalled for leaking at the rear junction to the extension tubes. The extension tubes also corrode out and leak. If you take it to a shop, let them know you have sealer in the system.

We bought this new in 05 with a build date of 5/05. Don't ever remember a recall on any AC lines. Which line is the one that leaks? Hi or lo side? This is a stow and go van that has air in the back but its ducted instead of actually having another evaporator in the rear. I haven't opened the hood yet to really look closely on what is where so to speak. Might get a chance tonight but for now, we're not driving it. Thanks for the help.

what happens is they come under the passenger side front door behind the pinch weld from the engine bay (compressor) and they run the whole passenger side of the body.
They tend to rust out and leak. That is if you have rear air.
Also the rear expansion valves tend to leak as well as the evaporator.
YOU WILL WANT TO LET THE PLACE KNOW THAT YOU HAVE SEALANT IN YOUR SYSTEM.
