96 Grand Caravan Want To Bypass Body Control Module For Wiper Motor
96 Dodge Grand Caravan
Wipers only work on high and do not park
Motor replaced
Switch replaced with new mopar unit
I surmise that the BCM is bad, however could not locate a used one as these are part number specific.
Can't afford to buy new one $800 from the dealer so
I want to bypass the wires going to the BCM from the wiper motor switch and lead them to the wiper motor relay.
NOW, my questions is are there voltage reducing resistors in the switch itself so that each speed is a different voltage that goes to the BCM?
Or is it the BCM which senses which speed you want and THEN sends that specific lower voltage to the relay?
I have a haynes manual to help with decoding the swictch wires and i know there are 2 relays i just need to know which one sends lower voltage for the lower speeds.
Also my wiper washer motor does not work so i'll have to wire that also.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I just went through the same thing. I went to the junkyard, looked for vans with the same option package and grabbed a bunch of BCM's. I didn't care about the numbers on it. I found you just don't want to mix a BCM on a vehicles with/without theft system.
I got so tired of looking for the right one that it just made more sense for me to re wire it as it's a relatively simple circuit.
