1997 4 cyl air conditioning
Does anyone have a diagram of where the intake charge connector is on a 1997 caravan 4 cyl. I think i found it between the radiator and the alternator but it is very hard to get your hands in there. especially when the car is running with the fan being there. Mine seems to have 2 black caps. The one i mentioned and one up by the strut top mount passenger side but that one has a little plastic hose not the thicker metal hose like i have seen in the past. It is factory air.

fan? i thought the fan is attached to the radiator and is electric?
the small line that is plastic has nothing to do with the ac. the big hose off the compressor is low pressure side and the fitting on the small ac line is high pressure.
but if you are not A/C certified you are in violation of EPA regulations if you even attempt to put in freon. IDK why you can buy cans at walmart. it's just nuts for people to be messing with a/c especially with how dangerous it is to work with.

I don't know what the fan being electric has to do with anything. I was describing where the black cap was on the line coming off the compressor. Meaning you have to fit your hand between the radiator fan and the alternator to get to it. With the charging hoses being so short it is a little tricky to keep it away from the fan should the fan come on while charging the line.

i was reading this as if you were talking about the high pressure test port that is on the frame on the belt side of the engine. IDK why you'd put your hand down there with the engine running.
IDK why you'd have the engine running to properly service the a/c. I just hook up my Sun Koolair machine and it does the recycle, vacuum and fill without the engine running. Because it is really the only safe and legal way to service a/c
