Default Hesitation and P0172 code (bank 1 rich)

When I went to start it after letting it sit overnight it sputtered and stalled. I started it again and it ran a little rough until I gave it some gas and everything seemed fine. The next day it threw the code and started the hesitation. It idles fine but if I push on the gas it doesn't do anything for a second or so then just takes off hard. It sort of came and went, now it's consistant.

The tank is about dry so I plan to replace the filter and go from there. If anybody has any great ideas I'm all ears because changing the filter is a pain and I've got driving plans this weekend.

I just went through the same thing about a month ago. Very hard starting although it ran ok once it started. I took it in and the mechanic who is very competent with the electronic side of these engines said he couldn't find anything wrong. I'm now convinced that I got a tank of bad gas because once I filled it up, it ran perfectly on a 1100 mile trip.

I'm hoping so. It's about empty and I'm torn between filling up or replacing the fuel filter now while the tank is empty and light. I bought a fuel pressure tester to help decide but I can't find the test port. I don't think it has one.
