01 Caravan ignition issue
Our 01 Caravan will not start... I thought it was a dead battery since it seemed to very have low power when I first turned the key on... the little door dinger thing was very low volume and sluggish sounding, headlights were very dim, interior lights were dim, and so on.
Working on the assumption that the battery was dead, I cleaned the cable ends and charged the battery but it still did not start. When I turn the key the interior lights go dim and the gauges and radio quit working. The starter doesn't even try to engage.
*Just in case this is important... there is some kind of electrical switch or solenoid on the bottom of the steering column just below the ignition switch that clicks very rapidly when trying to start the motor... I have no idea what it is, but I can see it move.
Any advise or recommendations would be appreciated much.
