How to check ball joints?
I read this in the FSM. Is this really the best way to check Lower Ball Joints?
DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - LOWER BALL
JOINT
With the weight of the vehicle resting on the road
wheels, grasp the special fitting cap on the bottom of
the ball joint and with no mechanical assistance or
added force, attempt to rotate the grease fitting.
If the ball joint is worn, the grease fitting will
rotate easily. If movement is noted, replacement of
the control arm is recommended.
I am also concerned about the inner edges of my front tires wearing and what feels like loose steering when hitting a rut or bumps in the road.

yes, that is one way for checking ball joints. there are many other methods. but if you have issues with wear and loose feeling. GET IT CHECKED IMMEDIATELY!!!! do you have any idea what happens when a suspension/steering part fails on the highway? is your safety and the safety of others on the road worth the potential of serious injury/damage/death?
