96 Grand Caravan, Aftermarket Transmission Oil Cooler
96 Grand Caravan 3.8 v-6
I want to add an aftermarket transmission oil cooler,
I intend to tow a small vehicle with a tow dolly about 5 times a year, 3500 pounds max towing weight including dolly, no more than 40 miles max one way.
I have researched this and my question is...........
Can the tranny oil be TOO COLD during the mild florida winters of 40 degrees when i am NOT towing?
Or should i go with a bypass valve at the cooler to bypass it during the winter?
Thanks

Well had the tranny oil cooler on for almost a year, and it has worked great.
Got the one from autozone, the 6 pass.
I did replace and splice new dodge tranny hoses when i installed it onto the new tranny cooler oil lines, just for peace of mind, and it worked great in the winter, no weird shifting problems.
I did NOT use the plastic ties to mount it the to condensor, i made a steel braket to attach it to.
Don't have guages on it for temp yet but these can be added with no problem, i recommend doing this for anyone interested, good peace of mind.
Thanks again.
