Jacked up the front end of the 2010 Caravan today and noticed some play left to right and inner tie rod movement. Shouldn't it be tight or should there be some play? after 21000 kms and a rotation at 10 k I notice feathering on the outer 1 inch.

 

Inner tie rods? you mean inside the steering rack? NO, there shouldn't be any at all period.

 

Thanks...that's what we thought. Yes they are the inner tie rods. Outer tie rods are tight but we can see the boot moving in and outand that is on both sides. Could this be a defective rack and also we only have one side up at a time.
