How do I disconnect the O2 sensors( upstream & downstream) on the '97 grand caravan? Where are they located(diagram would be helpful)? What tools do I need? Crow foot 17mm or 19mm? thx

Upstream is behind the plenum on top of the rear exhaust manifold. You will never reach it without removing the wiper cowl and maybe the plenum. The downstream is on the exhaust pipe just after the converter. The size is 7/8 or 22MM.

you didn't tell him where the down stream O2 sensor is. He might get confused if he can't disconnect it.

thx for the quick response. The reason for the need to disconnect the O2 sensors is
to remove the exhaust system in order to replace the power steering pump. do I still need to remove the upstream O2 sensor? I can see it at center of manifold on the firewall side, away from the catalytic converter.

it's a lot easier to move the right axle shaft. just pull the passenger wheel, remove big nut in center of hub, remove 2 spindle to strut bolts, remove outer cv joint from hub. you don't even need to pull the shaft out of the trans. you don't have to worry about alignment, the strut isn't slotted where the bolts go through. takes like 15min to do this. That's how I'd do it if I was a mechanic
