Question Power / remote locks

Hello all, New to the site, could use some help.
Have a 2005 Grand Caravan. Using the 6 button remote to lock the doors. The horn honks, but the locks do not lock. Looked for a fuse and didn't find one. Any ideas on location of fuse, or common issues for this problem?

Welcome to the forum. There are multiple issues with the door locks on this model. First, there could be a code in the BCM for right or left unlock output failure. If this code is in the BCM then the locks are disabled until the code is cleared. There is a software update for the BCM that will keep that from happening again. There is also a code that could be in the BCM for (usually) drivers door lock switch stuck which would give similar symptoms. This condition requires the BCM to be replaced. I'm guessing condition 1, either way you will probably have to take it in to the shop.

Sorry for the late post, but just read your problem. It seems we could have experienced the same problem. I had the smae thing happen to me with the door locks. They very much seemed normal with the horn sound & lite flash when you hit your remote lock/unlock but the doors did not lock or unlock the way they should have. By disconnecting your battery & pulling it from the mount out of the car for several minutes & then reinstalling it resets the computer & corrected my door locks several times over the last two & half years. Also my radio & accessory socket was dead when I first bought my car & the same fix corrected that problem....Hope this helps......................Ken

Disconnecting the battery clears the code from the BCM and makes the locks operational again. Until it sets the code again and then you have the same issue. The software update eliminates that problem. It looks for the condition every key cycle instead of giving up trying when the code sets.

The only difference between software update & clearing the code/codes is the price. Clearing the codes I can do in my garage or driveway for free. The software update has been quoted @ 100.00. Thx...........Ken

Smile Try this...

Pull the IOD fuse in the fusebox for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. It worked for me.
