Just a quick search of this forum shows 52+ post on the clockspring so yes they do go bad some times :-). This his how you get to yours.

You're not going to get body codes from a code tester. Only ENGINE codes. Before you go tearing your doors apart, pay someone a diagnostic fee to check it for you.
