Default Both windshield wipers drag on windshield....

Greetings,
I just bought a used 2010 Grand Cavavan SXT. Nice vehicle, however, both windshield wiper arms(not wiper blades) rub the windshield throughout their full radial travel. On the dry windshield makes a fingernail on chalkboard noise... The springs at the pivot point on both arms drag on the windshield and have left faint but visable scratch marks on the windshield. Carfax report showed no accidents, but this just does not add up....how much of a nightmare is it to access the wiper motors for shimming etc? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

your van should still be under warranty, try returning to the dealer to have them look at it.

btw, was your van a former daily rental? it's possible that something happened to it.

in any event, you should get it fixed sooner than later before you scratch the windshield even more. In the mean time, try putting a rag where it touches the windshield to keep it from scratching (not the best looking solution, but it's a temp fix for now)
