Default Heater air flow selection 2010 GC

I have a 2010 GC Hero. When I select the "defrost/floor" heater button , the air does indeed split between the two. Selecting "floor only" button, still directs the air to both defrost and floor. There does not seem to be any change in output at either location. Is this normal? It is really noticeable (loud) when the fan is at the two higher settings. Once the windshield is clear, I would rather have the heat down on the floor. Thought I would check here before taking it to the dealer. All other positions seem to work fine. Thanks

When the mode selection is anywhere between floor and defrost, you will get airflow from the defroster. The door has a gap at each end so that if the system ever breaks, you will still be able to drive the vehicle with a clear windshield.

OK, Thanks for letting me know. It just seems strange though, that there is no difference with air flow on either setting - I wonder why they have the two settings since they do the same thing.
