Default Driver Seat Height?

Hello Guys,

I recently inherited a 2004 Grand Caravan from my sister. It's in beautiful almost new condition with only 84,000 miles.

The only problem with it is the drivers seat height. It's higher than the passenger seat. With both hands on the wheel in the same position my right arm will rest on the armrest on the seat but I have to slump my left shoulder to reach the arm rest on the door.

When I get into the van my head brushes the top of the door frame so I have to duck down and the emergency brake release is so hard to reach that I have to remember to do it before I put on the seat belt. . Also with the sun visor down all the way I actually have to duck my head down because I can't see enough of the road in front of me and I'm only about 5'8" tall.

I've looked under the seat but can find no way to get it any lower. My question is this. Are all the driver seats in the Grand Caravan the same way or is this some kind of special set up. It's just so annoying to me that I had to buy one of those tube shaped pillows to use and an arm rest for my left arm to make long drives more comfortable.

My sister got it used so knew nothing about it either. I don't see how a man six feet or over could put up with this thing. Is this stock or what????

The seat is manual and not power? In a manual seat, I have no issues and I'm 6'4".

It is a manual seat. I can't imagine you sitting in this seat.

Look under the seat and see if someone put spacers between the seat riser and the floor or between the seat riser and the adjuster

This is a picture of the riser and adjuster. Sometimes real short people put spacers in to raise the seat.

Thanks but I don't see any spacers. I also have a 1989 Aerostar van. I guess I'm just too used to that one. This smaller van just seems too cramped up to me.
