MPG improvement needed? 2000 dodge caravan sport
I am wondering what the majority of dodge caravan owners have used in their minivans that improved mpg's even if by .5 mpgs I wanna know I am considering bosch plat 4's and I did want e3's til I heard from local mechanics that they we're no improvement anyhow oh yeah one more question....how to tell if my van is awd or fwd? vin number cord definitions also please. thank you
They design of the spark plug will have no effect on fuel milage. You can have 1, 2, 3, 4 ground electrodes and not one will improve fuel mileage over any other.
If you want to improve your mileage, take out all the seats but the driver seat, remove the spare tire, over inflate your tires (3-5 psi over vehicle sticker in door jamb), use 5w30 energy conserving oil, make sure air filter is in perfect shape, and check out web sites designed specifically to help people come up with strategies for improving fuel mileage such as www.fueleconomy.gov
AWD, simply look under the van and if you see a shaft running from the front of the van to the back, look at the rear axle. If there are shafts from the center of the wheel running to a gear box. Take off the rear wheels, if you have disc brakes with a big nut in the middle of the hub, all are eazy indicators you have AWD.
