Default mundane rear wiper issue

I own two Grand Caravans - an '04 and '07. The rear wipers on both have been not cleaning the rear windows properly for a while. I read online that the hinge could be the problem so I cleaned up the hinges with some WD-40. On the '04 the rear wiper is now working to clean about 90% of the window. No change on the '07. I know I can replace the spring, but I am not sure how to go about this. Also, it may be an issue of the WD-40 not getting into the hinges well enough on the '07.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Has nothing to do with the spring, it is the hinge area. If you can't get it lubed, you have to replace the arm.

Seems like there is sand or grit jammed in the hinge. I will try to work that out and lube it up again.

The hinge corrodes, it's almost like hard water deposits but the surfaces are aluminum so they get that white crusty crap in there and makes them stiff. Just keep spraying it and work it in and spray it again and work it in.

Done it twice with WD 40 and one with "Liquid Wrench".
I feel like I need something in there to remove the crud. I did not have this problem on my '04. The opening in the hinges seems bigger on the '04....a few millimeters, but enough to make a difference.

Going to try again with Liquid Wrench.
