Dodge CaravanThe Dodge Caravan is the best selling mini van from Dodge. How many Dodge Caravan owners here at DodgeForum.com would agree? Discuss it now!
I didn't mean crank sensor.... lol long day at work; I unplugged the cam sensor and the van would not start, and this has been an issue since I bought the van and got it back on the road. The transmission was replaced before I bought it, AC compressor replaced and a few leaks in the coolant system were fixed. I didn't find out about this issue until after I got it back on the road (I had to get the cooling system in order). It does seem like the computer is rev limiting the motor, but I remember looking at the gear selection on the scanner I had and it showed the gear selection positions correctly.
Put a scope on the cam and crank and they stayed in time with each other, seems to be something in the computer limiting the RPMs, so now my next question is what years PCM's are interchangeable with my van and it is a 93 3.3 fed emissions, the number I got on it is 4557618
I can't find an interchange on them though. It looks like the years have different part number associated to them, and I have to drive 230 miles to the junk yard to pick one up... gotta love living in rural america
Garretson is where I'm planning to go tomorrow, and they only have 1 93 3.3 in a voyager the rest are 92's and 94's, so hopefully the computer is still in the 93 and I'll probably grab another computer on top of that as well just in case.. But I don't want to grab another computer form another year if it doesn't have a chance in hell to work.
It really doesn't matter what year you pick on these older vans. I've put a 1995 computer in a 1992. Just make sure that what ever vehicle you pick has the same emissions as yours (some don't have EGR).
Cool I will make sure I check for EGR's on the two I pull. Thanks for your time, and I'll report back when I get another puter put in.... I hope this takes care of the issues...
