A few days ago, when I put it in drive, nothing would happen. Van has 110k on it. I've always made sure my fluid level was perfect so I figured it's time for a rebuild. I have bought the ATSG A604/41TE book to assist in my rebuild. Anyone know where the best kit is to rebuild these things with or any hints to help me on my way? Thanks.

 

You need a lot of specialty tools.

You're probably only going to need a basic seal kit. I see kits on ebay all the time usually under $40.

 

Got the thing apart... found a bunch of broken gears. Rear sun gear and planetary gear assembly is broken. Lots of metal chips in it. Is this worth rebuilding or should I get a reman from Dodge?

 

ill try to find one at a yard with low km/miles or have a rebuilt unit put in. You never know what else be wrong if you tried rebuilding that.

 

I have all the parts you need cheap. Post a picture of what all the damage looks like. If the planetary is really burned up, you have to super flush the trans cooler. When they get clogged, the planets fail
