Exclamation Help!!! Van wont start after leaving windows down in a torrential downpour!!!

So... My brother left both front windows down during about a ten hour torrential downpour. I started the vehicle this morning when i first realized it and turned the heat on for a few hours and let it run. Went back out about two hours after i shut it off and tried to start it to go somewhere, no dice. The radio plays and the dome lights go on but the key fob will not unlock the vehicle and no dash lights are on and the car wont start... What could it be?

Sounds like the electrical is toast to me. Rain water probably got all over the steering column, dash then went inside to where all the wiring and electronics are and damaged them. Fhe fob probably won't unlock the doors because the water fried the electical systems that operates power locks, I'm guessing your power windows are gone too?

I'd check you fuses to see if you blew any the first time starting the van, otherwise let the thing dry out completely and pray to god that everything works.

I'm not a mechanic, but it probably wouldn't hurt to check for any problem codes either.

Good luck!!!

Have you tried jump starting it with another car and jumper cables. Doesn't take much juice to run the radio and lights. Could be something is draining the battery.
