Our son has a 2000-model Dodge Grand Caravan converted to carry a power wheelchair (a ramp swings down from the rear). We have to carry some very long portable ramps on our current roof rack -- a standard Thule. The racks are really not as strong as we would like, and they are located too close together. The ends of the ramps -- they are each 16 feet long! -- stick out too much front and rear, and they wobble a lot up and down.

Can anyone suggest a type and provider of some heavy-duty roof racks that will work well with the Dodge GC?

How heavy are the ramps? If they are not too heavy, try looking for ladder racks. they make them for minivans and would probably make things alot easier.
