Question Drivers side window motor question:

INRE: 2002 Grand Caravan Sport

Has anyone ever replaced it? Window goes down but the only way to get it back up is to hold the switch and slam the door a buttload of times untill it inches it's way up.

Would opening the door up and cleaning the connections work or is replacing the whole motor the way to go (unless it's a compleate nightmare).

Any and all information would be appreciated...and Thanks in advance!

Very common issue. I think it is usually a brush issue but you can't get internal motor parts so I just replace them. I usually replace the regulator assembly, not much more money than just the motor and replacing just the motor can be a real pain.

It sounds like its off track.....

If not, Then the bushing have broken inside the motor and will not turn like it use to. Open the motor up and pay attention as there may be some small parts that can get lost. In there you will find some plastic debris IF that is what is broken

Replace those with three ( 3 ) metal nuts and try it again. Could be your problem.

People are happy with $16 window regulator assemblies off Ebay. You can change one in an hour or two. Makes tinkering with it pretty pointless.
